I painted "Eider Duck Cottage" (8 x 10, oil) during a plein air painting trip to Monhegan Island in Maine. I loved using different colors of the same value (darkness) to make a believable facade of this building. Look how it transitions from blue to green as you go down the side of the building. It was just the effect I was looking for!
The painting is framed in a black frame with gold trim.
"Eider Duck Cottage" was juried into the Lyme Art Association's 2024 Ship to Shore Exhibition, which ran from April 19, 2024, to May 30, 2024.
